32 new Planets are discovered in 2009

The smallest is five times the size of the earth

HD 80606 b is a superjovian planet (Eccentric Jupiter) 190 light-years distant in the constellation of Ursa Major. The planet was discovered orbiting the star HD 80606 in April 2001 by a team led by Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz. Based on its mass, at 4 times that of Jupiter, it is a gas giant. Since the planet transits its star, its radius is determined to be at 73,560 km (slightly larger than planet Jupiter).

The planet has wild variations in its weather as it orbits its parent star. Computer models predict the planet heats up 555 °C (1,000 °F) in just a matter of hours triggering “shockwave storms” with winds that move faster than the speed of sound

European astronomers have up till now discovered 32 previously unknown plants orbiting other stars than our own sun. The number of eksoplanets is then up to over 400 at the moment.

The smalles of the newly discovered eksoplanets is around 5 times the size of the earth, while the largest is around 5 times larger than our solar system planet Jupiter which is the largest plant in our own solarsystem.

This was revealed at a statement given by the European Space Agency astronomers this Monday.

The astronomers stated that more than 40 percent of the stars looking like our own sun have planets with small masses.

The new observations have given the astronomers a large insight into the variety of planet systems. Nuno Santos, one of the project researchers stated that this helps us to understand how planets are formed- De nye observasjonene har gitt astronomene stor innsikt i planetsystemets mangfold.

The astonomers used HARPS, which is a special designed instrument at the European observatory in Chile to map the new eksoplanets.

This instrument gives the researchers the chance to calculate the size and mass of objects observed and discovered in the Universe.

HARPS is a spectrometer dedicated to the search for extrasolar planets by means of the technique of precise radial velocity measurement. HARPS is developped by a consortium headed by the Geneva Observatory. It is installed at the Coude room of the 3.6 meter telescope at La Silla, with an optical fiber link to the Cassegrain focus.

Try finding a recipe for a mango margarita or a strawberry daiquiri; both are guaranteed to be popular with your guests. Pinot Gringo and Merlot are two good wines to choose and you should offer two domestics and one imported beer for your guests to choose from. Ice tea and lemonade are good non-alcoholic choices. Guests will really appreciate a cooler stocked with regular and diet sodas.

Food should be kept simple and tasty. On the grill you can have hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken. If you really want to impress, you can try your hand at some surf and turf by offering steak and grilled lobster tail. You can also serve shrimp on skewers or kabobs. Make kabobs by alternating chicken or beef with vegetables on a skewer. You can also add a little Greek flair to your barbeque by using lamb meat on the kabobs. Serve snacks throughout your barbeque in cute plastic bowls. These snacks can include potato chips, pretzels, and vegetable trays. You do not need to buy expensive pre-made trays at the store. Go to your local party store and pick up a couple of inexpensive plastic trays and make your own. You just put a small bowl of dip in the center and then arrange the cut vegetables around the dip; this is easy to do with fruit, meats and cheeses too. Try broccoli, carrots, pea pods, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes and green pepper strips. Cole slaw and baked beans are easy to prepare and are usually crowd pleasers. Most people will also enjoy pasta, potato and macaroni salad. The ingredients you can include in these are diverse and you can really come up with some creative and inspired dishes. Do not worry about the mayonnaise spoiling; it is a little know fact that the mayonnaise actually makes these salads last longer.

It is the little things that will really impress your guests. Make sure that you have enough plastic silverware, paper plates, napkins and drink cups. Nothing ruins a party faster than not being able to find a cup or napkin. If your party has a theme you can find everything you need at the local party store. Place trash cans in convenient places and keep them emptied throughout your event. You may have to bus the tables a little bit but it is better than everything getting messy. Do not save all of the clean up for the end of the night. Simple flower arrangements will add the perfect finishing touch. Place them on serving and guest tables for a touch of color.

I and my College steady were to break some time later but to date, we are the best of buddies. At sometime, I noticed that some guys sited with us on the table were enjoying our ordeal than their studies. Such are the things that made the girl embrace my world. I remember her suggesting that we play deaf and dump two years after we broke up, can you imagine that?

Never fail to phone her, even when she least expects it. I once called some girl that I was interested in at four o’clock in the morning. When inquiring of what I was doing up so early, I told her I was in thirteenth heaven, where people think of their loved ones when they can’t sleep. Wow! First thing early the next morning, she was at my door with a king-sized hug for me. No matter how many dates you take her, don’t make any elbow – exceeding moves after any date, just drop her home and with a friendly handshake, wish her good night. Don’t kiss her when she expects you to. Your respect as a gentleman will be earned on how patient you are with her when it comes to such matters as kissing her and accessing her inner graces.

The writing is on the wall that you want her, but you can’t have her just yet. Increase your demand. Try to show her that men are also hard to get at times.
